Why Give to the Church

“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust[a] consume and where thieves break in and steal; but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust[b] consumes and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.  Matthew 6:19-21

There is no question — without your generosity, Alleluia would not be able to have the impact it has in our community. In fact, 93% of our income comes from your offering. But, that's not the only reason why we give. We give as an act of faith. In a society where money is perceived to be personal, giving and being generous in order to advance God’s work in the world is a concrete way to affirm our trust in God's provision. It’s how we seek to orient our lives around God’s abundance, rather than the culture’s message of scarcity. Being generous is an important part of our spiritual lives — it’s one of the ways that we grow in our faith.

If giving is new to you, start by making a commitment to give regularly, no matter the amount. If you’re not sure how much to give, take a look at the chart below and consider “percentage giving,” and commit to grow each year.
